This morning I took a Nia class. It’s somewhat like yoga, but with dance. I think it was introduced to me at the perfect time. I have been so tense lately. Like in serious neck pain. I think this class might help. I left feeling a little sore and tired, but oh so refreshed! While I was healing my body-mind-spirit, Emilia and Chris were having daddy-daughter time at Gymboree. It felt great to have that time for myself. We met for lunch and I enjoyed family time, too.
While Chris and everyone in the state was watching the big game this evening, Emilia and I went to Orange Leaf for some frozen yogurt. I don’t like sports, but I like froyo. This place is addictive. If you haven’t been, you are missing out. Every flavor is amazing. Go get some.

Children’s Garden
We love visiting the Kentucky Children's Garden at The Arboretum. It is nice to have a unique outdoor learning environment so close to home. It’s fun to watch Emilia explore nature. We enjoyed our time there, Saturday. They had a Welcome Spring Celebration. We made a kite, that actually flew really well. Emilia and Daddy went fishing in the pond.We admired flowers and trees. All was going well, until Emilia fell in a bed of rocks. She bruised her pinky finger pretty bad. We scooped her up and ran to the car as she was crying. It looked so bad and was swollen, we thought maybe it was fractured or something. She didn’t cry that long and was moving it freely, so we assumed it was ok. We left the gardens to go get some lunch and returned when we were finished. We wanted to spend a little more time there. The weather was wonderful. After lots of kisses and hugs, as well as sunshine and the smell of sweet flowers, I would have to say it was an almost perfect day.

Enjoying Spring

Sun–Shiny Day
It’s been nearly two weeks since I’ve written. Eleven days ago a devastating tornado hit my hometown. Families lost their homes and business owners lost their businesses. We drove there the day after to see our families. They were all ok, but so many others we not so lucky. My heart was so heavy. As a parent, I thought of all the children in the community. After coming back home from seeing the unbelievable damage, I cried and felt so helpless. I contacted everyone I knew in Lexington for help. We collected donations and delivered them last weekend (and are continuing to do so). I am so thankful to friends and even strangers who opened their hearts to help others in need. It will be a long road for the victims of the storm but I think they can see clearly now, the rain is gone. There’s nothing but blue skies.
Today was a beautiful day. We went to the library this morning for story time as usual. After Emilia’s nap we went to the playground near our house and spent the whole afternoon. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and the weather was perfect. We really enjoyed what seemed to be Springtime. Emilia even made a new friend, Sawyer. She was shy at first but I think she liked him. ;)
The new window display at the library is so pretty. I LOVE cherry blossoms!
Just a swingin'
She found a little puddle of water. Might as well have been a huge puddle. She had a ball.
Ending the day with a bit of DQ Mint Oreo Blizzard. YUM!
