Last Friday we went to Free Friday Flicks at Jacobson Park. It’s a family friendly event where you can enjoy a movie in the park, and other children’s activities for free. People bring their lawn chairs, blankets, picnics and enjoy Summer. That’s what we did!
Misty joined us with her new puppy, Charlie. As you can imagine, Emilia was one happy girl. A puppy to play with and Hawaiian ice for dessert. This kid was ecstatic!
We left early, but had a great time. Next Summer, Emilia will be able to stay up a little longer and enjoy the movie. We look forward to many more outdoor Summer activities. Oh, the places we’ll go!

Brunch with Nana & Grandpa
Emilia and I, recently had brunch at Cracker Barrel with Nana and Grandpa. My parents really like to visit here. My dad can get a tasty meal and my mom can shop. While dining, Emilia tried to eat Nana’s large blueberry muffin in one bite. We made a few purchases at the store and of course, did not leave without a little front porch rocking.
We stopped at the playground before heading home. Everyone enjoyed the swings! It was HOT, so we didn’t stay long. Emilia loves all her grandparents so much. She seriously, talks about them all day. So, it’s very special to her when she gets to spend time with them. Everyone leaves with a smile.

Organic Strawberry Jam
Who doesn’t love the aroma, bright red color, juicy texture, and sweetness of strawberries?
It is peak season, and I wanted to try my hand at making jam. I used 4 pounds of organic strawberries and 2 cups of organic sugar. I trimmed the berries, mushed them up a bit with my hands and added the sugar.
I simmered the berries and sugar on medium heat, and before I knew it the sweetest smell was filling my kitchen.
I filled about 8, 8oz. jars and stored in the refrigerator.
I hope my family enjoys this sweet summertime gift!

Sweet Friends
Emilia’s best pal is Sydney. Her Mama Sarah and I are friends so the girls see each other often. They are only a few months apart in age, and seem to be getting even more friendly as they get older. They hold hands a lot lately and I think it’s adorable. Every girl needs a bestie! We went to McConnell Springs last week for a walk. The girls had fun. We stopped for a snack before heading home.
Sydney’s birthday is coming up soon, so we went to a pizza and pool party to celebrate. The girls shared some pretend tea in the pool. Happy Birthday, sweet friend!
True friendships should be cherished. I hope Emilia has a few special ones in her lifetime.
