Fall Festivities

Oh my, I am a little behind. I haven’t been visiting this space as much as I would like lately. Life with two little ones is quite busy these days. It seems as if they consume every moment of my time.

We have had a fun Fall (my favorite time of the year). We visited the orchard a couple of times, have eaten all things apple and pumpkin, and taken several lovely neighborhood walks. We enjoyed Halloween parties and time with friends. Emilia wore her costume to our neighborhood party, school party, dance class, and trick or treating. She loved dressing as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz because she LOVES the movie. We put a hat on Jude and called him the lion from The Wizard of Oz. I think they were both pretty adorable.

Now the winter holidays are just around the corner and that makes us smile around here. We’re already singing Jingle Bells!

Sunny Sunday

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day. We decided to go out to Boyd Orchard in the afternoon. We enjoyed the Fall festivities; pumpkins, apple pie, a train ride and more. I snapped this pic of my sweet babes. I love them so!

Emilia is 3!

Our baby girl, I mean big girl turned three years old last week. It’s hard to believe that she is this old. She has become such a smart, sweet, and sassy girl. She is much more independent than she was a year ago. She has the best sense of humor and keeps us laughing everyday. She loves her baby brother and is very kind and motherly to him. She enjoys going to school and comes home this year singing songs and telling us what her day was like. We love her more than words can say. She is our little princess.

Our little princess loves Disney Princesses and everything pink. So what kind of birthday party did she have? A princess theme of course.  The morning of her birthday, she woke to find balloons and banana pancakes with sprinkles. It made her morning. Party day was the very next day. The plan was to have a few things set up outside for her and her friends to play, but just as everyone was arriving it began to rain and was moved inside. Things became a little chaotic and I didn’t get that many photos. We gifted her with several princess dresses so she and her friends could play dress-up. She enjoyed herself very much. She especially enjoyed her princess cake with an edible tiara on top. I think all our family and friends liked it as well. The chocolate and raspberry cakes were equally tasty. We’ve been enjoying cake all week.

We are so thankful to have another happy and healthy year with our daughter. We are also thankful for wonderful family and friends who helped share her special day. We love them all and love our princess, too. Happy Birthday, Emilia Kate!

Thank Heaven..

I thank heaven for my little boy everyday. Jude is growing so fast. He is a healthy three month old now. He is extra sweet and cuddly. He smiles so big when we talk to him and laughs out loud, too. I love is big eyes and how chubby he is beginning to get. He has definitely stolen his momma’s heart!

Back to Preschool

It’s that time of year…back to school.  Emilia has grown so much in just a couple of months.

We met her new teachers at Open House and she was excited to see her new room. Each classroom has a name. She is a Kangaroo this year. She was happy to hear her teacher say that each child gets to bring their class pet, Joey (a stuffed animal) home for a weekend.

She came home with  “The Kissing Hand”.  I look forward to seeing how much her little hand will grow this year.

The biggest change this Summer was that she became a Big Sister. I snapped a few pics of her and Jude this morning.  I love to see them together. She is so sweet with him. I think he looks up to her already. He is very curious about everything she does. His eyes are so big when he watches her. She is a great example to look up to. I’m going to squeeze him a little tighter tonight because he will be off to school before I know it, as well!

Outdoor Music is FUN

Emilia has been getting her groove on lately. She was so excited to go to our neighborhood park for a concert last week. We met our friends with lawn chairs and picnic blankets in hand. We dined al fresco, and enjoyed talking and listening to music while the kids ran around, danced, and climbed trees. Emilia had so much fun. When it was dark and way past her bedtime, we were packing up and all she wanted to do was stay and dance. Love her lil’ heart.

We headed downtown for Thursday Night Live, this evening. We used to go all the time before we had any kiddo’s. It is such a fun way to unwind with great local music, food, and drinks. This time we joined Ms. Sarah for a family friendly musical play time. She used to be Emilia’s music teacher at Gymboree. She had missed her and enjoyed every minute of her imaginative play.

We’ve been staying home a lot more this Summer, with the birth of Jude. It was great to get out and enjoy some things we love, like music!
